I haven't been doing much at work for a while, but I was alone and could therefore really do nothing the way I wanted. Now they have me surrounded - several interns (one of the groups seems to really like to use clueless interns, they have 3 or 4 of them, but there's only like 7 or 8 full-timers in the group - a weird form of part-time-ization) and a woman who is almost, but not quite, a Work Person. Work People are a new species I discovered since I began working here. They basically seem to really enjoy "work things". It could just be a mental disorder, but it manifests itself as a particular zeal for things like ordering office supplies, writing procedures, learning "productivity applications" and so on. I've encountered maybe 5 or 6 that I would classify as serious cases. I think that it could be related to unusual religious beliefs and/or recovering from addiction. It's one of the strangest things I've seen, but I never get tired of listening to these people talk.
