We're making the news!!! This is probably because of some movies and TV shows. However, just like the undocumented immigrant population, there appears to be some disagreement over how many of us there are.

The Washington Post, March 31, 2006: "According to the Census Bureau, fully one-third of young men ages 22 to 34 are still living at home with their parents -- a roughly 100 percent increase in the past 20 years. No such change has occurred with regard to young women. Why?"

Herald-Mail, March 31, 2006: "According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 57 percent of men ages 18 to 24 and 47 percent of women those ages lived at home in 2004. That year, 14 percent of men ages 25 to 34 lived at home, whereas 8 percent of women that age did. Both sets of numbers include unmarried adult children living in dorms."

The Boston Globe, March 11, 2006: "They're a growing bunch in this country. In 2000, 12.9 percent of 25- to 34-year-old men lived at home, up from 10.5 percent in 1980."

CBC, March 21, 2006: "When compared to parents whose adult children had left home, they were more satisfied with the time they spent. The conclusion is that too much time is better than not enough."

Maybe we need a political lobbying group? Like AARP, but for adult males who live with their parents - something like "American Loafers Association (Not the Shoes, the Lazy Guys)"

Someone has been buying People magazine, which is counter to every cultural brick I have layed in this house. So I take the magazines and dump them in a garbage can on my way to work.
