Great infographic of how Americans spend their day.

I've slipped back into the 25 or 26 hour sleep cycle. It's not quite as bad this time, since no one cares when I show up for work (3 days left!). What do you do when you are awake at 4am? You put your barbecue on to cook. Molasses is the flavor I have been using a lot of lately. You fall asleep at 5 or 6am and when you wakeup, you have pulled pork for breakfast.

Which reminds me of how heavy handed many food movies are in trying to convey "This tastes good." They use way too many superlative words, I think because the food does not actually taste very good. It is scripted. The first movie I always think of is The One - this was a straight-to-TV romantic comedy on ABC Family that starred Richard Ruccolo (the non-Ryan Reynolds guy in "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place") and Meredith Monroe (who played Andie McPhee in Dawson's Creek for a season or two). I actually think of this one when someone mentions the Jet Li movie "The One." This was pretty far afield in terms of food - one of the key plot points revolved around the phrase "every bite is the same" somehow being a charming culinary ethos. Which is gross - it would advocate turning all your meals into a smoothie. It is also oddly supportive of factory food - Pringles are all the same, for instance. (the other one was "Waitress" - most of the food is discussed, I just happened to be watching it again last night) Directors don't seem to spend a great deal of time watching people eat and how they react, to try to capture a sincere reaction.
