There are a number of tribally run colleges and universities. Look at their class schedules or course catalogs - they are interesting. For instance, political science classes are focused on the rights of Indian tribes, Native American fishing rights and fisheries treaties (in the Northwest), and tribal government. History has pre- and post-contact Native American history, as well as the history of the tribe.

It made me wish that more colleges had a more distinct local or cultural character. There's a standard set of stuff you can learn pretty much anywhere. More colleges should have local character. Like colleges near wine grape regions have oenology and viticulture programs, and colleges in Michigan automotive engineering (Kettering).

Okay, now I am going to go watch Hot Tub Time Machine again.
