Work has gone remarkably smoothly lately, likely segueing into a large, slow boat of a project that I can calmly latch onto for a while. Better, it has fairly easy and predictable travel.
My friend has been giving me vignettes of networking nightmares in DC. My favorite is the congressional staffer's reply to a timely, well-spoken email. Four words: "are you a republican?" Probably among America's least funny cities, offering a sort of artist's statement - probably a lengthy explanation of why one is and is not a "republican" and why one is and is not a "Republican" and then go into brief explanations of the points you agree and disagree with for each philosopher covered in your standard poli sci program - would go underappreciated.
