This is going to be the most boring thing I've written in a few weeks:
So I got this cheddar the other day - it claimed it was "sharp" but I guess my sense of what "sharp" means must've been distorted by the butt-puckeringly sharp stuff I was using last week. So my expectation going into the grilled cheese sandwich I made was like this: crisp crunchy exterior, creamy sharp mustardy interior - yes, extremely good. Then it was not like that, not sharp, and disappointment set in for a little bit. Also it gave up its structural ghost a lot earlier than I had been planning, so it just sort of wept out of the sandwich, onto the pan, kind of like, "Hey guy, I can't handle this kind of thing, you gotta use me for sometehing else." So, okay, you will not be a sandwich again. He would be good at mac and cheese, I think. Anyway, it is really mild stuff. We're talking Kenny G and a Barca lounger (as opposed to my impression of "sharp", which should Thelonius Monk played on bagpipes and a park bench with a hobo sleeping on it).

Most favorite episode of TV on DVD: "Noshing and Moshing" episode of "Freaks and Geeks". So many great moments - Bill moments are abound, plus James Franco sitting on the floor listening to "Rise Above."

We went to an odd little restaurant for lunch today. It was pretty good, but as the attractive, wealthy intern said: "The vegetables sort of taste like a stove." Would probably go back, though.

I walked out of my building, intending to go to a movie, but got sidetracked and walked into a bookstore instead. I looked for this book that I'd read a few positive reviews for, but their inventory thinger said it was not to be found - it is on order, do not bother looking, your efforts are better spent elsewhere - so I looked for the newer David Mitchell book. But then I spotted the book I initially came in for. I bought it. In conclusion, sometimes machines are liars. This was actually the second bookstore I was in tonight because the first one had on their "Reading Group Favorites" table a Larry the Cable Guy book (it was next to the last Philip Roth book) and while I'm sorting out whether it is a joke or not, I'm not giving them my money.
