Friday was the #1 Best Sailing Day. Beautiful weather - a cloudless sky, wind blowing 10-15 knots fairly consistently, not too much gusting. Waves were crashing over the bow, everything was getting wet. Boat was heeling 20 degrees or so. Absolutely amazing - 5 hours of pure bliss. It was like a very miniature version of the Volvo Ocean Race.

This, too. A wonderful article, on one of my interests - the working with your hands vs. "knowledge worker" thing - "the manager faces the possibility of disaster at any time. But in his case these disasters feel arbitrary; they are typically a result of corporate restructurings, not of physics."

Going through my visa application, I love coming across questions like "In times of either peace or war have you ever been involved in, or suspected of involvement in, war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide? If Yes please provide details." (Also: I only recently connected "visa" with the word "visit")
